Tour operator Tez Tour said that the
Russian airline had completed all documents required by the Russian government’s Federal
Agency for Air Transport and the Jordanian authorities, and the airline intends
to resume flights to Egypt as of December 24.
Jordan had previously banned iFly from entering its airspace, requiring that the air operator obtain an insurance certificate issued in London.
Meanwhile, iFly canceled flights to
Hurghada and Sharm Al-Sheikh, which were originally scheduled to depart from
Moscow on December 23 and from Ufa on December 24.
Jordan had previously banned iFly from
entering its airspace, requiring that the air operator obtain an insurance
certificate issued in London. iFly then requested the Russian Federal Agency for
Air Transport to allow it to fly through Syria, but the agency did not agree to
this route, considering it unsafe.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria
Zakharova said that Moscow did not consider the decision taken by Jordan to be
politicized or directed against Russia's interests.
