He said in a press statement that the Kingdom
imported roughly 3 million barrels of Iraqi crude from September 2021 to
October 2022, by 11,565 Jordanian and Iraqi tankers.
Under a signed agreement, Jordan imports 10,000
barrels per day of crude from the Kirkuk oil fields, in northern Iraq, which
accounts for approximately 7 percent of its market’s daily demand.
Iraq sells crude oil to the Kingdom at a discount
rate of $16 per barrel, from the average price of Brent crude, to account for
transport costs, inspection fees, and quality differences.
