AMMAN – Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, director-general of Jordan
Tourism Board, revealed that the board has launched a comprehensive plan to
enhance religious tourism in Jordan.
The plan aims to revamp both Islamic and Christian tourism
in the Kingdom, attracting visitors from various countries, AmmanNet reported.
In televised statements, Arabiyat highlighted the plan's
focus on countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Turkey, as potential
destinations for Islamic tourism.
Furthermore, the initiative targets individuals from
Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Spain, China, India, and expatriates residing in the
Gulf region.
Arabiyat also mentioned Jordan's noteworthy presence on
large screens at the main entrance of the Cannes International Film Festival.
This platform served as an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom's cultural
diversity, captivating potential filmmakers and promoting Jordan as an
attractive filming location.
In addition to religious tourism, the board has future plans
to focus on adventure tourism, showcasing Jordan's natural wonders and outdoor
activities.
The authority is also developing a plan to promote medical
tourism, capitalizing on the Kingdom's advanced healthcare facilities.
