AMMAN
(Petra) — Jordan was invited to take part in the extraordinary meeting of the
Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),
to be held in the Pakistani capital Islamabad between December 17 and 19, said
Pakistan's Ambassador to Jordan Sajjad Ali Khan.

In remarks
at a press conference on Wednesday, Khan praised Jordan's role, at the OIC and as
part of the international community, in supporting just Islamic causes.
The two-day
meeting, he said, is arranged at the request of Saudi Arabia, to draw
international attention to the humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan.
"OIC
member states need to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and help provide
appropriate humanitarian response by promoting regional security and
peace," said Khan.
