AMMAN — Lower House Speaker
Abdul Karim Al-Doghmi has said Wednesday that Jordan is facing an organized campaign
targeting the state and its head,
His Majesty King Abdullah, in the context of
psychological warfare that aims to strike the unity of Jordanians who rally
behind their leadership.

Speaking at the opening of an oversight session, he
added that this campaign reflects the depth of the crisis that its sponsors and
implementers are going through, adding that those behind the campaign are upset
by Jordan’s international, regional and Arab stands and its solid and
principled position on various issues, especially the
Palestinian cause. He
said that international parties now consider Jordan a focal point and a
supporter of regional stability.
Doghmi added that these parties realize that Jordan, under
the leadership of King Abdullah, has become today one of the most important
cornerstones in the region. “We say today, through the
Jordanian Parliament,
which expresses the voice and aspirations of the Jordanian people, that these
campaigns only strengthen Jordanians who rally behind their leadership, army
and state institutions,” he said. “Jordan today is moving at a steady pace
towards its second centenary, while modernizing its political system at the
Constitution level as well as laws that govern political action,” he concluded.
