According to the FM, the presentation will demonstrate Jordan's constant and unequivocal condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s actions, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

Safadi mentioned that 66 nations have declared their support for the lawsuit South Africa filed, while only eight nations have stated their opposition.

He discussed the symbolism of South Africa bringing this lawsuit, pointing to the Arab-Islamic Summit’s decision that reflected the consensus of member countries. The summit entrusted the Secretaries-General of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with preparing legal pleadings and necessary legal files to work with professional international organizations.

Jordan, according to Safadi, is fully involved and working within a clear plan, with solid stances and functioning processes targeted at accomplishing the intended goal. He did, however, note that there are working mechanisms in the court that cannot be bypassed.

Jordan’s unwavering support for Palestine
Jordan has not only been at the forefront of condemning Israel's war crimes and atrocities in Gaa, but has also fought for Palestinian statehood and sovereignty.

Last July, Jordan submitted written pleadings to the ICJ based on the General Assembly’s resolution adopted on December 30, 2022. The resolution requested that the ICJ issue an advisory opinion on the legal consequences arising from Israel’s ongoing violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In its written pleadings, Jordan reaffirmed its support for the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state along the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Jordanian pleadings addressed the legal ramifications of Israel's ongoing violations of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, the long-term impact of its occupation, settlements, and actions aimed at changing the character and status of Jerusalem, as well as violations of the city's and its sacred religious sites' existing historical and legal framework. Because of its historical custodianship, the Hashemite Kingdom carries major responsibility in this regard.
