Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
Ayman Safadi confirmed Wednesday that Jordan is being targeted on its northern border
by drug dealers.

Safadi was
speaking during discussions by the
Lower House Finance Committee of the budget
of his ministry. He said that the ministry includes 59 embassies and consulates
with a budget of JD52 million. “Our policy is aimed at serving our national
interests,” he added.
He said that
Jordanian embassies abroad seek to attract investments and have an important
role in opening foreign markets to Jordanian exports.
Jordan continues
its efforts to support the
Palestinian issue, which is the central issue, with
emphasis on the two-state solution, he said.
The Foreign Minister
pointed that Jordan’s position on the
Syrian crisis was clear from the
beginning by pursuing a political solution, pointing that the Kingdom has felt
the consequences as a result of hosting Syrian refugees.
On Jordanian-Iraqi
relations, Safadi said that they are special relations, and Jordan supports the
security and stability of Iraq, adding that “Iraq’s security is our security.”
