AMMAN – On Saturday, the
Jordanian Media Credibility Monitor (AKEED) documented 48 rumors circulating across media
outlets and social platforms. Of these, 17 were debunked, marking a slight
increase from January's count of 13 debunked rumors, as per the monthly report.

Political rumors dominated with 19 instances,
constituting 40 percent of the total, focusing on topics like the Israeli war
on Gaza, as well as Jordanian perspectives toward these issues. Among these,
three were discredited,
Security-related rumors followed closely with
11 cases (23 percent), trailed by economic rumors at eight (17 percent),
general affairs at five (10 percent), and social rumors at four (8 percent).
Only one
rumor related to health emerged, comprising two percent of the total.
Internally sourced rumors accounted for 38 (79
percent) of the total, while 10 (21 percent) originated externally. Social
media platforms contributed to 39 (81 percent) of the rumors, with media
outlets contributing to nine (19 percent).
