AMMAN — A delegation from the
Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), headed by Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners Haitham Mesto, is participating in the sixth meeting of the
Directors General of Civil Aviation in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi, according
to Al-Mamlaka TV.

The three-day meeting, organized by the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Regional Office for the Middle
East, brings together heads and general managers of civil aviation authorities
in the Middle East and regional and international civil aviation organizations.
Discussions focus on issues related to aviation
safety, cybersecurity activities, and global developments in air navigation in
the Middle East, to keep pace with changes taking place on the regional level.
The CARC said on Wednesday that the agenda for the
meeting, which began on Tuesday, covers ICAO innovation activities and a review
of virtual reality technologies in air accident investigations.
Participants will also discuss ICAO’s work on
charges for airports and air navigation services and review a suggested
approach for establishing the ICAO MID Air Transport Strategic Plan 2020-2035,
and a future aviation think tank in the Middle East, according to the
commission.
