AMMAN — According to the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jordan is taking part in the 10th Review Conference of the
Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which is
being held August 1–26, and a ministerial meeting of the Stockholm Initiative
for Nuclear Disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, in New York,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The ministry
said Sunday that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
Ayman Safadi will deliver Jordan’s speech at the conference and a speech on
behalf of the Arab Group.
The meetings are
held within the framework of international efforts aimed at promoting
international peace and security through the disarmament of nuclear weapons and
other weapons of mass destruction.
Safadi is also
participating in the coordination meeting called by the US Secretary of State
Anthony Blinken in this regard
Safadi will
travel to New York ahead of the scheduled meetings at the UN on Monday and
Tuesday.
During his
visit, he will meet UN Secretary-General
Antonio Guterres and a number of his
counterparts and heads of delegations participating in the meetings.
