Fayez told Khaberni News that 600,000
dunums in the Kingdom are planted with
olive trees — numbering around 11
million trees.
Olive oil production in 2022 fell just
short of predictions made during the olive harvest season, when Head of the
General Syndicate of Jordanian
Olive Oil Mill Owners and Olive Producers Tayseer Najdawi had
told Jordan News that the sector expected to produce 25,000-28,000
tonnes of olive oil.
While the figures for 2022 were lower than
expected, production still increased compared to the previous year, when the
sector produced 23,401 tonnes of olive oil, according to a report by the
ministry.
