AMMAN — Abdul Karim Abu Salih,
deputy chairman of the
Jordan Dates Association, announced that Jordan produces
approximately 20,000 tonnes of dates annually, mostly of the
"Majhoul" variety.

According to a report by Khaberni,
he also highlighted that half of this production is exported to foreign
markets, while the other half is consumed domestically.
Success at the Qatar exhibitionAbu Salih shared that
date production companies within the Jordanian pavilion at the Qatar International
Agricultural Exhibition achieved remarkable success during the event, which
concludes Sunday.
He stated that representatives of
Jordanian date companies were able to promote and market the
"Majhoul" dates, which are known for their high-quality varieties
with international standards.
Strong presence in international
marketsAbu Salih also emphasized that
Jordan's date production, particularly of the "Majhoul" variety, is
not only exported to Gulf markets but has also established a strong presence in
international markets.
He mentioned that Jordanian date
companies have been successful in promoting and selling their products in
European and American markets.
