AMMAN — Istanbul University President
Yasar Haci Salihoglu said that Jordan ranks seventh in the number of students
studying in Turkish universities, according to Khaberni.
Salihoglu said that “all countries of the Middle East are of great importance to Turkey. The faith, culture and civilization are
common, and the relations of these countries with Turkey are deep rooted”.
He added that “Jordan is a friendly country with
which we exchange feelings of love, appreciation and viewpoints in all fields,
and we seek to develop and strengthen our relations with it and in the field of
education as well”.
Salihoglu said that “we seek for Jordan to rank in
the top three.”
“Jordanian students in Turkey serve the common
history between our two countries,” he said.
According to official statistics, 5,300 Jordanian
students study in public and private Turkish universities. There are currently
more than 23,000 Jordanians residing in Turkey.
