AMMAN — Jordan recorded 1,236 new COVID-19 cases and 18 new deaths on Saturday,
bringing the total death toll to 11,215 and the total number of cases to 889,671.
The
Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 382 cases, while Zarqa recorded 167
cases. Irbid registered 310 cases, Balqa 81 cases, Karak recorded 38 cases,
Jerash recorded 16 cases, and Tafileh recorded 8 cases. Madaba registered 19
cases, Aqaba 32, Ramtha 92 and Ajloun 58.
The
ministry said in a statement that 53 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals,
while 103 new patients were admitted.
The
number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 28,853
according to the ministry. Out of 25,954 COVID-19 tests conducted Saturday, 4.76
percent of them came back positive.
