Jordan records 17,893 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 17,893 new COVID-19 cases and 13 new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 13,248 and the total number of cases to 1,260,983.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 7,594 cases, while Zarqa recorded 1,386 cases. Irbid registered 2,927 cases, Balqa 1,495 cases, Karak recorded 887 cases, Jerash recorded 541 cases, and Tafileh recorded 306 cases. Madaba registered 486 cases, Aqaba 700, Ramtha 446, and Ajloun 504.

The ministry said in a statement that 170 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 228 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 108,993 according to the ministry. Out of 62,743 COVID-19 tests conducted Wednesday, 28.52 percent of them came back positive.
