AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,448 new COVID-19 cases and 29
new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 12,329 and the total
number of cases to 1,045,714.
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 1,076 cases, while Zarqa recorded 205
cases. Irbid registered 442 cases, Balqa 177 cases, Karak recorded 77 cases,
Jerash recorded 105 cases, and Tafileh recorded 13 cases. Madaba registered 50
cases, Aqaba 50, Ramtha 44, and Ajloun 84.
The ministry said in a statement that 142
hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from
hospitals, while 150 new patients were admitted.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the
Kingdom stands at around 52,375 according to the ministry. Out of 42,845
COVID-19 tests conducted Wednesday, 5.71 percent of them came back
positive.
