During a meeting he held with the Administrative and
Financial Director of the Council Reham Al-Harbi, Hneifat discussed “issues
related to the sector”, according to a statement by the Ministry of
Agriculture.
Hneifat told Harbi and the accompanying delegation
from the Saudi Ministry of Environment and Agriculture on Tuesday that he is
proud of the depth of relations with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and
grateful for its continuous support for development projects in the Kingdom. He
stressed the importance and success of the date industry in Jordan.
Harbi praised “the efforts made in the Jordanian
date sector, which made Jordan a country with experience in the cultivation and
production of dates”, and welcomed, in the name of the International Dates
Council, Jordan’s request for membership in the council, of which the Kingdom
is a founder.
Hneifat said that Jordan, represented by the
Ministry of Agriculture, “is in favor of joining the council, and that official
procedures for membership will begin in the upcoming days.”
