out.
Furthermore, Alloush highlighted a significant drop in
imports compared to 2022, with the total import value at JD174 million. This
reflects a decline of JD19.4 million in 2023, indicating an approximate
decrease of 11.1 percent, attributing this to the 16 percent tax imposed on
cellular devices, which directly affected the volume of imports and thus prices
on the end consumer.
Alloush urged the government to implement measures
supporting the sector's growth, especially amid escalating regional tensions,
emphasizing the importance of taking proactive measures to protect economic
sectors, including the cellular devices business. He also stressed the need to
review
tax policies.
