AMMAN — The Civil Defense Department in Jordan has announced
that its officers put out 53 fires over the span of 24 hours, according to a
report by Civil Defense Deputy Lt. Abdullah Al-Saudi on Tuesday.

The department also provided first aid to 1,249 people in
different locations and handled 88 rescue accidents during this period.
Warnings to the publicSaudi urged the public to exercise caution in dry areas,
which can be a stimulating environment for fires and a haven for snakes.
He also advised people to avoid throwing cigarette butts and
to clean the sides of their homes, factories, and shops to prevent fires and
preserve forest wealth.
Shmeisani fireSaudi praised the professionalism and speed of the Civil
Defense personnel in extinguishing a fire that broke out inside a restaurant in
Shmeisani.
The officers were able to confine the fire to a 20m area and
control and put it out through special teams.
The Civil Defense Directorate has reiterated that it is
always prepared to provide services to all citizens around the clock.
