AMMAN — Jordan's Gross Domestic
Product (GDP) at constant market prices grew by 2.5 percent in 2022 compared to
2021, according to data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS).

In a quarterly statistical report released
on Thursday, the DoS showed that the Kingdom’s GDP at constant market prices in
the fourth quarter of 2022 grew by 2 percent compared to the fourth quarter of
2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Economic contributionsPreliminary estimates showed that the rise could
be attributed to growth in economic sectors, the report indicated.
According to the data, the agriculture,
hunting, forestry and fishing sector achieved the highest growth rate last
year, at 4.8 percent, contributing 0.28 percentage points to the overall growth
rate. It was followed by the construction sector at 3.2 percent, contributing
0.10 percentage points; the manufacturing industries sector at 2.7 percent,
contributing 0.50 percentage points; and the wholesale and retail trade,
hotels, and restaurants sector at 2.6 percent, contributing 0.21 percentage
points.
