Amman - Jordan’s industrial sector exports edged down by 0.6% in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Jordan Chamber of Industry.

Exports totaled JD4.209 billion in the first six months of this year, slightly down from JD4.236 billion last year, the chamber's data showed.
Despite the slight overall decline, some sectors showed notable growth. Exports of wood and furniture surged by 33%, and the supplies and food sector grew by 3%.
However, the mining industry sector saw a sharp decline of 32.4%, packaging exports fell by 5.4%, and the construction sector dropped by 35.8%.
Chemical and cosmetics exports were valued at JD907 million, while leather and textiles reached JD782 million. The mining sector contributed JD689 million.
Engineering and information technology industries exports totaled approximately JD558 million, food and food supplies amounted to JD486 million, and therapeutic and medical supplies were valued at around JD370 million.
The plastic and rubber industries contributed about JD168 million, packaging exports were JD151 million, construction exports were JD87 million, and wood and furniture exports amounted to JD12 million.
