AMMAN — Jordan’s fleet of vehicles working for licensed rideshare application companies rose from 11,202 vehicles at the end of last year to 11,652 vehicles in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 4 percent. اضافة اعلان

According to a performance index issued by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, the number of public buses decreased during the same period by about 9 percent to stand at 744 buses, compared to 817 at the end of last year, Khaberni reported.

Meanwhile, the number of yellow taxis remained stable, at 5,346 vehicles.

Shipping companiesThe number of goods transport companies rose to 142 companies in the first quarter of 2023 — 117 container transport companies and 33 companies transporting crude oil and oil derivatives.

The average age of the shipping fleet increased during the first three months of this year to 19.3 years, compared to 18.4 years in 2022.
