In a statement to Al-Ghad News on Saturday, Khudari said that the exhibition, the largest annual food and beverage event in the world, brought new marketing channels to Jordanian products in light of the contracts signed with companies taking part in Jordan’s pavilion.

Thirty-six local companies specializing in the production of meat, dairy products, pasta, pastries, vegetable oil, and coffee, among others, took part in the exhibition, according to Khudari.

The JEA facilitated Jordan’s participation in Gulfood 2022 to promote the products of local manufacturers as well as to take a first-hand look at latest developments in the food manufacturing sector.

The exhibition also witnessed an unprecedented turnout from participants and visitors, which suggests that the world has begun to realize the importance of food manufacturing and food security post COVID-19 pandemic.

Manufacturers said that the exhibition was a crucial commercial platform that connects them with traders, suppliers, and importers from across the world, adding that Jordan has proven highly competitive in the export markets.

JEA CEO and Vice Chairman Halim Abu Rahmeh described Jordan’s participation in Gulfood as “distinguished”, having seen remarkable interest by the visitors from around the world.

Abu Rahmeh indicated that the JEA will be participating in SIAL Canada tradeshow, which will be held in April, following its successful participation in Gulfood 2022.

Participating in international events creates an opportunity to promote Jordanian products and open new markets, according to Abu Rahmeh.
