Minister of Industry, Trade
and Supply, and

Speaking during the opening of an
employment unit in the industrial sector on Monday, established by the Amman
Chamber of Industry in collaboration with the
German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Jordan Industry 4.0 & Digitalization Innovation
Center, funded by the EU, Shamali emphasized the government's commitment to
genuine partnerships with the private sector to
meet employment needs.
The employment unit aims to provide
the necessary qualified workforce for factories and connect job seekers,
following their training, with available opportunities in small, medium, and
large factories.
This unit will help serve employers
to reach more efficient and effective Jordanian workers and contribute to
reducing unemployment in society by providing suitable and sustainable job
opportunities, reported the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Efforts to
address unemploymentAlexander Monden, head of GIZ's
employment project in Jordan, explained that the unit will help fill the
available job vacancies with job seekers, particularly in light of the
noticeable unemployment rates among youth and women in Jordan.
He emphasized that Jordan suffers
from one of the lowest rates of female participation in the labor market and
that the unit can contribute to solving this problem, which will benefit the
economy and society.
Alignment with
private sector needsTo be effective,
employment must align with the actual needs of the private sector, provide compatible training,
and offer a more stable and productive work environment, according to Monden.
Meanwhile, the unit director,
Abdullah Al-Nsour, presented the unit's goals, advantages, services, and
targets for the current year, highlighting its role in the employment process
at its various stages, including recruitment, job advertisements, interviews,
employing, and work.
