AMMAN — Initial data released by the Central Bank points to a 19.4 percent growth in tourism income during July 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, reaching JD554.5 million ($782.1 million).اضافة اعلان

50.1 percent surge in tourism
Over the first seven months of 2023, the data indicates a notable 50.1 percent surge in tourism income, totaling JD3,004.8 million ($4,238.0 million), Khaberni reported. This boost is propelled by a 51.3 percent increase in tourist arrivals, amounting to 3,720.2 thousand visitors. The number of overnight stays also rose by 47.0 percent to 3,085.1 thousand visitors, with a remarkable 76.2 percent growth in single-day visitors reaching around 635,000.

Simultaneously, the data reveals a 13.1 percent uptick in outbound tourism spending in July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, reaching JD171.2 million ($241.5 million).

Throughout the initial seven months of 2023, outbound tourism spending experienced a substantial 37.9 percent increase, totaling JD813.2 million ($1,147.0 million).
