AMMAN — After 100 days of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip,
Jordan, under the directives of His
Majesty King Abdullah, remains steadfast
in its support for the strip on the international stage, vehemently opposing
the displacement of Palestinians and actively facilitating aid delivery, Jordan
News Agency, Petra, reported.

His Majesty has consistently emphasized the urgency of
stopping the Israeli war on the strip, openly denounced the emergence of a new
humanitarian catastrophe, and challenged the policies of siege and starvation.
At the UN, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
presented compelling evidence and arguments, resulting in the General Assembly
adopting a resolution proposed by Jordan that calls for an immediate cessation
of the aggression on Gaza and ensures aid delivery to its residents.
From the Cairo peace summit to the tripartite summit in
Aqaba, His Majesty’s speeches have consistently highlighted the injustices
Palestinians face, underscoring the international community's failure to secure
their rights and emphasizing the need for the establishment of a Palestinian independent
state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Dedicating its efforts to address the medical and food
necessities of Palestinians, the
Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO) has been pivotal in collecting and dispatching aid to the strip. In
addition, Jordanian field hospitals have been proven essential in providing
vital medical care to individuals injured in the ongoing
Israeli aggression.
Situation in Gaza remains dire
Despite these efforts, the medical facilities are
overwhelmed, facing relentless attacks and critical shortages of supplies and
power. This has led to hospitals struggling to provide basic care, with many
operating well beyond their capacity. Furthermore, the lack of
vaccine supplies in Gaza has exacerbated the health crisis, leading to infectious diseases to
rapidly spread in overcrowded shelters. The psychological toll on civilians is
immense, as they struggle with daily exposure to bombing, loss, and severe
deprivation.
UNICEF's report highlights the severe food poverty affecting
children, placing nearly 90 percent of those under two at risk. Ongoing Israeli
restrictions on humanitarian aid have pushed many in the strip towards famine.
Additionally, in the southern regions of Deir al-Balah and
Khan Younis,
hospitals face imminent closure threats due to evacuation orders by the Israeli
occupation and ongoing aggression near medical facilities, resulting in minimal
medical staff availability.
As the International community watches, the determination
and initiatives of nations like Jordan in delivering aid and advocating for
peace serve as a testament to the unwavering human spirit amidst adversity and
conflict.
