Jordan sees 8% real estate sales dip

AMMAN – On Saturday, the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) reported that the volume of real estate transactions in the Jordanian market decreased by 0.5 percent during January compared to the previous month, reaching a total of JD499 million.اضافة اعلان

The report also indicates that the revenue value during January 2024 decreased by 12 percent compared to the same month in 2023, amounting to JD21.5 million, Khaberni reported.

Furthermore, the estimated value of sales to non-Jordanians during January 2024 decreased by 9 percent compared to the previous year, totaling JD14.3 million.

The activity of non-Jordanian property sales during the past January decreased by 25 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Specifically, apartment sales decreased by 29 percent and land sales decreased by 18 percent compared to January 2023.

Overall, the real estate market in Jordan experienced an 8 percent decrease in sales during January 2024 compared to January 2023. Apartment sales decreased by 7 percent, and land sales decreased by 9 percent during the same period.

The total number of real estate sales to non-Jordanian investors in January 2024 was 178 properties, showing a 25 percent decline compared to the same month in the previous year. This includes 112 apartments, a 29 percent decrease, and 66 land plots, an 18 percent decrease. The estimated value of these transactions was JD14.3 million, with apartments accounting for 68 percent of the value and land accounting for 32 percent.
