Cosmetics Sector Ahmad Al-Bass said that Jordanians spend about JD290 million
on cosmetics annually, according to a local media outlet.

Bass explained that Jordan has 200 factories for
cosmetics and cleaning materials, and 60 factories for cosmetics alone,
exporting cosmetics to 58 countries.
The representative noted that 45 percent of cosmetics
consumption in Jordan consists of local products, while 55 percent consists of
international products.
Jordanian consumers, he
said, have been turning to imported cosmetics due to a higher confidence in
imported products, despite the fact that Jordan’s factories produce
high-quality goods.
According to Bass, the prices of local products are
“reasonable and acceptable”, especially compared with imported cosmetics, which
are exponentially more expensive.
