AMMAN (JNews) — Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh,
at a joint press conference with Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati in
Beirut, affirmed Thursday that Jordan supports the stability and revival of
Lebanon, according to a report in
Al Ghad News.

Khasawneh said that Jordan will not delay in
providing Lebanon with what it needs in terms of citizens' institutions. He
said that Lebanon has a special place in the heart of His Majesty King Abdullah
II and in the hearts of the Jordanian people, adding that Jordan is concerned
with Lebanon’s internal affairs as with its own. “The two capitals are brothers
and we do not distinguish between them,” the prime minister said.
Delivery of Egyptian gas to Lebanon will be sped up,
Khasawneh said in order to support the electricity sector in the country,
adding that there is a regional effort being made to supply Lebanon with
electricity from Jordan.
On Jordanian-Syrian relations, Khasawneh said that
Jordan does not have disputes with anyone, and that its relations with other
countries was always and remains governed by strategic ties, and by the
principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs
of other countries.
Khasawneh said that Jordan is committed to the UN
Charter and the Arab League Charter, adding that there are approaches to
securing Lebanon's needs, and Jordan is committed to coordinating with all
parties and countries that can secure these needs.
Khasawneh arrived in Beirut Wednesday evening on an official visit
to the country, during which he will meet with President Michel Aoun, Prime
Minister Najib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.
