Speaking at the workshop titled "Discussing Green
Hydrogen Strategy in Jordan" on Sunday, Kharabsheh expressed gratitude to
the
USAID Energy Sector Support Activity for their ongoing cooperation and
partnership in preparing the draft strategy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.
The minister also commended the participants for their keen
interest in enhancing sustainability and leveraging local resources within
Jordan's energy sector.
Comprehensive strategy
The workshop aims to formulate a comprehensive
green hydrogen strategy, which will serve as a roadmap for the use and production of
green hydrogen in Jordan.
This initiative aligns with the ministry's efforts to
fulfill the requirements of the Economic Modernization Vision for 2023, as
stated in an energy ministry press release.
Described as a "crucial" component of the
ministry's ongoing consultations with key stakeholders in the sector, the
workshop seeks to review critical aspects of the draft green
hydrogen strategy and the sector's action plan.
The objective is to identify strategic priorities and
options that will drive the development of the green hydrogen industry in
Jordan.
Assessing findings and recommendation
Supported by the
USAID Energy Sector Support Activity, the
ministry is assessing the findings and recommendations of previous studies
conducted in the green hydrogen industry.
These studies have primarily examined potential sources of
future demand, export opportunities, key customers, and investment
requirements, as highlighted in the statement.
The workshop provided an opportunity for partners to address
inquiries and contribute to the proposed action plan. Key areas of focus
included outlining the main activities necessary for sector development,
addressing partner requirements, and addressing challenges faced by
green hydrogen consumers, as emphasized in the statement.
