Jordan third among Arab countries for US immigrant visas in 2021

According to the US State Department’s annual report for 2021, the total number of immigrant visas to the US issued globally was about 285,000, with Jordanians receiving 2,785 of those visas — close to 1 percent. 

Yemen ranked first in the Arab world for number of US immigrant visas received in 2021 with 4,770 visas, followed by Morocco (3,585) and Jordan, the report indicated.

Citizens of other Arab countries including Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Tunisia, Libya, Qatar, Djibouti, Bahrain, Mauritania, and Oman also obtained immigrant visas to the US in 2021.
