The Department of Fatwas will observe the crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1446 of the Islamic Hijri calendar on Saturday evening.
The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Ahmad Al-Hassanat, explained that the Fatwa directorates in all governorates will open their doors to receive testimonies regarding the sighting of the crescent. The main observation will take place in the courtyard of the late King Hussein bin Talal Mosque in the Dabouq area.

The decision on the date of Eid al-Fitr will be made by the members of the Fatwa Council, which consists of 11 members, who are representatives within the council. They will study the scientific and astronomical data and take into account the results from observational authorities sent from various regions, as stated by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Ahmad Al-Hassanat.
