AMMAN — Jordan on Tuesday
will host the media meetings of the Secretariat General of the
Arab League’s
Media and Communication Sector, held in cooperation with the Arab Commission
for Satellite Broadcasting.

The three-day meetings will bring
together Arab media, telecommunications, and information experts, and officials
who will discuss pressing media issues, such as the role of the media in
combating extremism and the impact of electronic media and video games on
society.
In a statement released on Sunday,
Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul said Jordan is pleased to host
the meeting, which highlights the Arab efforts, coordination, and cooperation to
address the emerging media challenges in order to protect societies.
Head of the Media and Communication
Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, expressed
appreciation for Jordan’s hosting such multidimensional meetings, which aim to
come up with practical and creative recommendations to enrich the work of Arab
media and push collective efforts to update the joint Arab media strategy.
