AMMAN —
Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) and
Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) signed an agreement on Wednesday at the Arab League
headquarters, in the presence of its secretary-general, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to
announce the organization of the 20th conference of
Arab business owners and
investors, in Jordan next October 18.

In its new edition, the two-day conference will focus on
defining the
modern investment climate, policies, incentives, and legislation
in Jordan and other Arab countries to attract investments, The Jordan News
Agency, Petra reported.
Aims of the conference
Speaking at a joint presser held at Arab League headquarters
in Cairo with JCC president,
Khalil Haj Tawfiq, UAC Secretary-General, Khaled
Hanafi, said Jordan and other Arab countries enjoy "key" ingredients
to attract "huge" investment projects in various sectors, primarily
technological, energy, agriculture, renewable energy, tourism sectors, and
other vital strategic fields.
Haj Tawfiq said the event, which will see participation of
senior
Arab business people and economic thinkers, has a "prominent"
role in producing visions and projects that serve pan-Arab goals in supporting
and strengthening joint trade and economic ties as well as creating an economic
trade bloc, which has become "more urgent than ever."
During the conference, he noted participants are looking
forward to creating an Arab economic unity, in light of presence of pan-Arab
integration ingredients.
