Jordan to host Droidcon conference for Android developers next month

AMMAN – Amman will host the global "droidcon" conference next January, a series of community conferences in Europe focusing on the development of Android smartphone software. اضافة اعلان

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, the conference will be organized by Omnius Media and its tech arm, Omnius Technologies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Digital Skills Society, under the sponsorship of the Jordan Tourism Board from January 18th to 20th, 2024.

The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmad Al-Hanandeh, emphasized the importance of supporting such technical conferences. These events provide vital opportunities for university students and professionals in the communications and information technology sector to stay updated on the latest technologies and innovations. They also facilitate knowledge exchange and create employment opportunities for Jordanian youth, aligning with the goals of the Digital Skills Society.

Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, the Director-General of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), highlighted the significance of hosting the conference in Amman. He welcomed the participants, who will visit their second home, emphasizing the revolution in the tourism sector brought about by mobile computing. Arabiyat expressed the board's commitment to supporting and sponsoring events promoting tourism, especially those contributing to business tourism.

The CEO of Omnius Media, Fahd Al-Daib, expressed delight in announcing Amman's participation in the global droidcon network. The conference is expected to attract around 1,000 participants, including university students, programmers, specialists, and representatives of tech companies, offering opportunities to stay updated on industry developments and identify promising Jordanian talents in the Android world.

Droidcon conferences have been held in over 25 technical centers on five continents, attracting more than 25,000 developers and specialists annually.
