AMMAN — Jordan is slated to host the
Global Social Media Forum (GSMF) between November 9 and 10, with Ayman Irsheed,
CEO of Moments Innovation Company, the forum organizer, saying on Saturday that
logistical preparations for holding the conference have begun, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The conference will feature many Jordanian, Arab, and foreign influencers
from the fields of
social media, finance, economics, and traditional media, he
said.
The event, he added, is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, and
constitutes a “distinguished” gathering to understand and monitor the role of
social media and its social, psychological, and promotional influence at
commercial and political levels.
The forum, held regularly since 2014, chose Amman as its venue for
successive years, mainly due to Jordan’s security and safety, its openness, its
cultural wealth, and archeological monuments, which constitute an added value,
said Irsheed who expressed hope that the event would contribute to attracting
tourism to Jordan and boost its position as a major incubator in the Arab
content industry on social and digital media.
The
forum activities and participants will be announced soon, he said.
