AMMAN —
Jordan and Israel on Thursday reached an agreement by which the latter will
provide the
Kingdom with an additional 50 million cubic meters of paid-for water.

During a
meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman
Al-Safadi, and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid — on the Jordanian side of
the King Hussein Bridge — the two sides also concluded a deal under which the
cap on Jordanian exports to the West Bank would be hiked from JD160 million to
around JD700 million.
Approximately
JD470 million of the total sum will constitute products that comply with
Palestinian specifications.
The two
ministers agreed that the two sides’ technical teams would meet within the
coming days to finalize the details of the water deal.
