AMMAN — Jordan's Economic and Social
Council President, Musa Shtewi, has announced that the structure of independent
government independent units in the Kingdom will be reviewed in April.
Local media outlets reported that Shtewi
made the statement during an interview on Jordanian television on Friday.
Shtewi also stated that the government's
response to the council’s proposals for modernizing the public sector had been
positive. He further added that some independent units must remain independent
in order to maintain the privacy of their work.
Moreover, Shtewi pointed out that the
expansion of independent units in previous years had been ill-considered, and
he emphasized that independent units were present in the outputs of the
management reform map.
