Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said on Monday it will announce a specific date for
submitting applications for unified university admission online, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.

The move is specifically designed for the university
admission of children of Jordanian women married to foreigners, commonly called
the “children of Jordanian mothers”.
The TV said 150 seats were allocated for individuals
within that category in the regular program in all fields at Jordan’s state-run
universities.
Muhannad Al-Khatib, a spokesperson at the Ministry
of Higher Education and Scientific Research, explained that “a decision was
issued by the Higher Education Council several years ago to allocate 150 seats
in the regular program in all fields of study at official Jordanian
universities for children of Jordanian women and their right to compete for
those seats.”
Khatib said that a requisite for university
admission of students whose mothers are Jordanian, but their fathers are
foreigners, is to have a
Tawjihi, or the general secondary education certificate
examination, for the year he is applying for at the university.
He said that “indicates that students matched the
requirements to join official universities for the first time in the
supplementary session 2022, or the current general session 2022, where students
are not entitled to raise their average and take advantage of these seats,” he
explained.
It is also stipulated that “the student must hold an
identification card issued specifically for individuals whose mothers are
Jordanian. He said the card is issued by the civil documentation office.
Khatib said the ministry will announce a date for submitting
the unified university admission online for children of Jordanian women, once
seats in other categories are filled up.
