AMMAN —
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said on Wednesday that Jordan is working with Turkey
to strengthen economic, commercial, social, and tourism relations between the
two countries, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

He added, during a press conference in Ankara with
his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, that economic meetings at the
ministerial level will take place soon to discuss increasing trade cooperation.
“The meeting today is a continuation of
coordination, which reflects the joint keenness of the leadership of the two
countries to find broader horizons for increasing cooperation,” according to
Safadi.
“An agreement was reached with Jordan on the
Palestinian issue,” Cavusoglu said, stressing that Turkey supports the
Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
He said that
Turkish Airlines will start operating
flights from Istanbul to Aqaba after stopping due to the pandemic.
Later on Wednesday, Safadi delivered a message from His
Majesty King Abdullah to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on ways to
strengthen the “solid” relations between the two countries, according to
Al-Mamlaka TV.
