AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, on Thursday, welcomed the agreement to observe a truce in Yemen on Eid al-Adha, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Haitham Abu Alfoul, stressed the Kingdom’s support for reaching a political solution based on the accredited references of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, which contributes to ending the crisis in Yemen, achieving security and stability, ensuring Yemen’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity, alleviating the suffering of its brotherly people and meeting their aspirations for security and peace.
Jordan praised efforts made by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg, Abu Alfoul said, adding that Jordan will continue to support the UN mission to Yemen, which is based in the capital, Amman.
