AMMAN — Jordan, through the
Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj), won a seat on the
Board of Directors of World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance
(WITSA) for the 2022-2024 period.

The Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported that Jordan won the
seat during elections held recently for the purpose of electing the board.
According to an Intaj statement released Saturday, the
association has become a member, along with Bahrain and
Egypt, in the WISTA
alliance, which is a leading federation of members from more than 80 countries,
which represent more than 90 percent of the global technology market.
Intaj membership in WISTA alliance is an
"important" opportunity to support IT companies in Jordan and
contribute to presenting a unified position on issues related to technology,
exchanging important expertise and information, the statement noted.
This achievement would also help Intaj work closely with
internationally recognized organizations to promote and facilitate growth, and
participate in organizing global innovation and technical excellence awards to
honor distinguished technology users, the statement pointed out.
Eid Amjad Sweis, chairman of Intaj board of directors,
stressed the importance of this alliance, due to its support to digital
transformation and development of information technology sector.
Sweis said that this alliance plays a key role in shaping
international public policies that promote growth and development of companies
that provide digitization services and work on facilitating international trade
and investment in technical products and services through a reputable global
network.
Founded in 1978, WISTA, a recognized international voice of
the global digital technology industry, brings together members to work jointly
to support digital technology industry as the main economic driver.
