Amman – A Jordanian economic delegation began a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today, Monday, aiming to open new commercial and investment horizons between the two countries and to learn from Dubai's exceptional experience in organizing the Dubai Shopping Festival, which has been held for 30 years.

According to the Amman Chamber of Commerce, the delegation includes the Chamber's President, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, its Vice President, Nabil Al-Khatib, Board Member, Falah Al-Sugheer, Deputy Director-General, Bashar Maqbel, and Public Relations Manager, Salem Al-Atiyat.
During the visit, which will last for several days, the delegation aims to promote investment opportunities available in Jordan.
It will hold meetings with the heads and directors of chambers of commerce in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, as well as the Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment under the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department.
A memorandum of understanding will also be signed with the Abu Dhabi Chamber to enhance economic, investment, and trade relations.
Al-Haj Tawfiq stated that the visit is part of the Chamber's efforts to put Amman on the map of Arab shopping festivals and to establish an annual shopping festival in the Jordanian capital starting this summer.
The aim is to benefit from the UAE's experience in organizing the Dubai Shopping Festival, which started 30 years ago, to stimulate trade and tourism, attract new investments and brands, and create job opportunities for Jordanian youth.
According to the Foreign Trade figures issued by the Department of Statistics, the value of trade exchanges between Jordan and the UAE during the first 10 months of last year reached 997 million dinars.
