Amman - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Ahmed Safadi, met with the Vice President of the German Bundestag, Aydan Ozoguz, on Sunday to discuss enhancing parliamentary relations and stress support for a two-state solution.

Safadi highlighted the deep and comprehensive ties between Jordan and Germany, emphasizing the need to bolster cooperation across various sectors to benefit both nations and their citizens. He expressed gratitude for Germany's support in managing the Syrian refugee crisis, noting the significant burdens Jordan shoulders due to regional instability and refugee influxes.
Safadi reiterated the central importance of the Palestinian issue, stating that failing to achieve a just solution and the right for Palestinians to establish an independent state remains a primary cause of regional instability.
Ozoguz emphasized the special importance of German-Jordanian relations and her visit to the region aimed at fostering mutual trust, underlining Germany's commitment to working with Jordan to find viable solutions for regional challenges, with the ultimate goal of achieving a two-state solution.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, MP Khaldoun Hayna, underscored the need for adequate international support for Jordan, which has made significant efforts to aid refugees of various nationalities, calling on the international community to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to ensure it can continue assisting Palestinian refugees.
