AMMAN — The Jordanian Nursing
Council (JNC) obtained international certification from the American Heart
Association (AHA), having met its standards in Life Support programs, according
to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
In a press
statement on Sunday, JNC Secretary-General Hani Al-Nawafleh said the council’s
achievement, of obtaining the AHA certification, will mark an “important,
qualitative” leap in the level of continuous professional development for all
health practitioners.
Training health
workers in these programs will help raise the number of survival cases of
patients who suffer from sudden cardiac arrest, he noted.
All staff will be
trained on the most modern equipment in the areas of life-support training, and
trainees will receive an AHA-approved international certificate in this field,
he pointed out.
To date, the council has
trained internationally accredited trainers, Nawafleh said, indicating that it
has made it a priority to improve the level of credentials of health workers.
