AMMAN — Rawan Al-Faqir,
the First Secretary at the Embassy of Jordan in the UK, was awarded the 2023 Young
Diplomat of the Year award at the 2023 DIPLOMAT magazine annual award ceremony,
according to a statement on their website.

The ceremony took place at the Royal Over-Seas League in
St James’s, London.
Faqir’s diplomatic career and achievements
Faqir, who is currently President of the Young Diplomats in London, has been a career diplomat since 2013.
She has held various roles at the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including a desk officer of the US in the North American Department, and worked directly with the Ministry Spokesperson.
Moreover, she was awarded the Chevening Scholarship, the UK government’s international scholarships, and fellowships program funded by the FCDO.
In 2020, she completed a Master of Studies (MST) in Diplomatic Studies from The University of Oxford. Faqir also holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Hashemite University in Jordan.
Trilingual diplomatFaqir is trilingual, with Arabic being her mother language, and she is also fluent in English and Hebrew. Furthermore, since August 2021, she has been serving as an Alternate Representative of Jordan to The International Maritime Organization.

DIPLOMAT magazine presented ten awards to some of the most
influential diplomats based in the UK.
The annual ceremony, now in its 13th year, recognizes the hard
work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community in trying to improve
their nations’ well-being.
DIPLOMAT magazine identified 10 categories that recognized
different levels of diplomacy, and winners were nominated by their peers.
