AMMAN — The 6th session of
Jordanian-Russian
Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation were
held on Wednesday.

The session, held via teleconference, was chaired by
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yousef Shamali and Russian Minister of
Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The committee discussed mechanisms to enhance
bilateral cooperation in many fields, and developed a comprehensive plan to
expand cooperation between the two countries on priority issues for 2022–2025,
which was signed by both sides at the conclusion of the committee's session.
Industry Ministry Secretary-General Dana Zu’bi,
Jordan's Ambassador to Russia Khaled Shawabkeh, Russia’s Ambassador to Jordan
Gleb Desyatnikov, and officials from both countries.
"Our meeting today represents a good opportunity
to discuss economic challenges that the world is witnessing due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, which confirms that our two countries have a lot in common,
especially with regard to adopting an economically open policy that supports
the liberalization of trade exchange, which in turn requires us to work with
all effort to develop and strengthen all aspects of bilateral cooperation
between the two countries," Minister Shamali said.
"Our meeting comes as a continuation of the good
results that were reached within the framework of the committee's 5th session,
held in Amman in 2019," he added.
The minister said that the agreement on the
comprehensive plan to expand cooperation between the two countries on priority
issues for 2022–2025 is a qualitative addition towards strengthening bilateral
ties and boosting them to better levels.
