The Financial and Economic Committee in the Jordanian Senate, chaired by Dr. Rajai Al-Mashar, began discussions on the 2023 Audit Bureau Report on Sunday. The meeting was attended by the head of the Audit Bureau, Dr. Radi Al-Hamadeen.

Al-Mashar noted that the meeting aimed to review the observations in the report, praising the Audit Bureau's role in safeguarding public funds and combating corruption. He highlighted that the report was distinguished by scientific, technical, and precise outputs.
He emphasized the independence of the Audit Bureau and its vital role in performance oversight and financial monitoring, stressing the importance of taking the observations in the report seriously and addressing the violations identified.
For his part, Al-Hamadeen explained that the 2023 report focused on financial and administrative violations in government ministries and institutions. He noted that what set this report apart from previous ones was its focus on core issues and identifying areas for improvement in parallel with the Bureau's monitoring outputs.
Al-Hamadeen outlined the key findings and efforts made by the Bureau, pointing out a decrease in violations compared to previous years, indicating the effectiveness of the oversight system and success in addressing previous year's issues.
Committee members praised the Audit Bureau's efforts in preparing the annual report, emphasizing the importance of supporting all oversight initiatives aimed at achieving good governance and transparency. They agreed to form a smaller subcommittee from the Financial Committee to continue the report discussions.
