AMMAN — Jordan is set to participate
in a food innovation trade show on March 20 in Montreal, the
Jordan Exporters Association (JEA) said in a press statement Saturday, according to the Jordan
News Agency, Petra.

Twelve Jordanian companies specialized in foodstuffs and healthy diet
products will represent the Kingdom at SIAL Canada 2022, the statement said.
JEA head Ahmed Khudari said the event is an opportunity for companies to
found new trade agreements with countries like Canada, among others.
SIAL Canada is a key international exhibition specializing in food
industries in North America, he said, in which 750 businesses from 50 countries
take will take part.
The JEA will use the fair to promote Jordanian companies and their
products in the Canadian market, he said, highlighting the support received
from the Ministry of Investment.
The ministry’s secretary general,
Zaher Qatarneh, said that the ministry
is “keen” to open international markets by participating in the event. Canada
is “promising” for Jordanian products and could be a gateway to the US, he
added.
Jordan’s exports to Canada rose to JD50 million last year, compared to
JD44 million in 2020.
