AMMAN — On Tuesday, A delegation from Jordan, led by
Jordan’s
Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ and comprised of Minister of
Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Central Bank Governor Adel
Al-Sharkas, and Secretary General of the
Ministry of Finance Abdelhakim Shibli
met with US Treasury Secretary
Janet Yellen in Washington DC to discuss
financial reform policies.

During the meeting, Yellen commended the Kingdom on its
success of its financial policies, particularly for completing its sixth review
with the
International Monetary Fund, and shared that she is looking forward to
discussing developing with the visiting
Jordanian economic team, Jo24 reported.
She highlighted the Jordan, like the rest of the world has been affected by
recent disruptions, including global shocks such as climate change, and the
food security crisis resulting from the
Russian-Ukranian war.
Meanwhile, she highlighted the Kingdom’s longstanding
relationship with the US as an ally and force for peace in the region.
